This came as a complete surprise to me, as it does to almost everyone I know who has seen it. HCMC has this city within a city. Every block has this labyrinth of alleys zig zagging through it. In there you will find everything you see on the main streets, but on a smaller scale. There are restaurants, hotels, beauty salons, grocery stores and everything in between.
